Section 28-41-35 states that employees are elegible for temporary caregiver benefits for any week (up to four weeks in a benefit year) they are unable to perform customary work because they are bonding with a newborn or newly adopted child, or because they are caring for a child or family member without fear of potential termination, employer retaliation, or loss of health care benefits. This bill is expanded by H.B. 6090, § 1, 2021-2022 Leg. Sess. (R.I. 2021).
