About Equal Rights Advocates

Equal Rights Advocates has been a leader in the field of gender justice policy reform and enforcement for over 45 years. ERA is widely respected as the architect of several cross-sector strategic collaborations that accelerate the pace of reform for women and people across genders who are low-paid workers, immigrants, and/or experiencing discrimination at the intersection of race and gender. ERA also leads the nation in strategic enforcement of laws that advance and protect women’s and girls’ rights at work and in school. From the smallest county courthouses to the United States Supreme Court, and through its free Advice and Counseling program, ERA has represented millions of women and girls in impact litigation while also developing best practices with high-road employers and schools. Paramount to this work is centering the leadership of community members most impacted by systemic discrimination and unlawful practices.
