Strengthens the California Equal Pay Act by: clarifying what constitutes “wages;" harmonizing the statute of limitations with other wage and anti-discrimination statutes; allowing workers to recover more of their lost pay; revising outdated gender binary language; and requiring employers include “good faith” estimates of expected wage ranges in public job postings.

This law requires employers with 25 or more employees to include the pay range in any job posting. It also requires employers with 100 or more employees to file federal EEO reports with the state.

This bill builds on wage discrimination protections by allowing broader comparisons of work, applying the law to other protected classes in addition to sex, prohibiting retaliation for discussing pay, and expanding the scope of remedies available to employees who have experienced wage discrimination.
