43:21-25 states that any individual elegible for benefits during a period of family temporary disability leave shall recieve 6 times their weekly benefit amount or one third of their total wages, whichever is lesser, under a private or state plan of disability benefits to care for a seriously ill or injured family member, or bond with a newborn, newly adopted or newly placed foster child for a maximum of twelve consecutive weeks in a calendar year. This bill was expanded in 2019 by A3975, which increased the paid leave to 12 weeks from July 1, 2020.
