These laws protect employees who are survivors of domestic violence from retaliation when they take leave to seek or obtain a protective order or to otherwise ensure their health and safety or the health and safety of their child. Employers with 25 or more employees may not retaliate against employees who take leave to seek medical services, domestic violence services, counseling, safety planning, or relocation. Employers must maintain the confidentiality of documents related to leave.
