STATUS: Enacted

Relates to minimum wage rates for covered airport workers; provides no such worker shall be compensated at a rate lower then the applicable standard rate.

This law amends labor law in relation to covered airport workers ensuring they are paid minimum wage. This law encompasses employees at covered airport locations who work at least 30 hours per week in cleaning, security, terminal and passenger handling, and catering and lounge services. Employers must ensure that the number of covered airport employees is no less than the 12/13/22 benchmark, and by January 2023 must also submit a sworn statement affirming that the employer will ensure that the number of covered workers working at least 30 hours/week and thus eligible to these protections is same proportion compared to workers in same classification in 2019. All covered employers must ensure all covered airport workers are compensated at a rate that is no less than the applicable standard rate. Employers must keep payroll records for six years and are subject to penalties if they pay covered employees less than the standard rate.
