STATUS: Enacted

This law bans employment discrimination on the basis of survivor status and requires employers to provide reasonable leave to survivors to seek legal relief.

This law bans employment discrimination (including discipline, demotion, termination, or denial of a promotion) against survivors of domestic violence who take “reasonable” leave to seek or obtain a protective order or other legal relief. Regular leave policies and practices apply unless an emergency prevents a survivor from complying. Employers may request documentation of the reasons for leave.
