Requires employers to allow employees to use paid sick days without wage loss or retaliation and expands other existing sick leave protections.

SB 616 requires employers to make every employee eligible to earn at least 5 days or 40 hours of sick leave or paid time off within 6 months of employment. The bill also increases accrual thresholds for paid sick leave to 80 hours or 10 days. It also prohibits retaliation for utilization of sick days and extends these protections to in-home supportive workers and workers with a collective bargaining agreement in place.
