Colorado law requires that, beginning in 2021, employers provide their employees with up to six days of paid sick leave, accrued at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked. Paid sick leave may be used for an employee’s own or their family member’s mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition and required treatment and care. Leave may also be used to address the needs of an employee or their family member if they have been a victim of domestic violence, sexual assault, or harassment. During a public health emergency, paid sick leave may also be used if an employee’s place of work or their child’s school or place of care has been closed.
