This law bans employers from discriminating against survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking. Employees must verify that they are survivors of one of the qualifying crimes with documentation such as a court order, or a signed letter from a law enforcement agency, domestic violence counselor, or health care provider. Employers must also provide reasonable accommodations, such as changes in schedule or job duties. Employers may not provide the accommodation if doing so would impose an undue hardship on business operations.
