This law requires employers with 50 or more employees to provide 15 days of leave to employees who are survivors of domestic violence, or to support family members who are survivors. Reasons for taking leave may include to seek support services or legal assistance. Employer may request certain forms of documentation in support of reasons for leave, and must keep these documents confidential. Employee shall provide advance notice of leave if possible, and may be asked to submit requested documentation within 30 days of leave. Employees must exhuast other employment leave before seeking safe leave unless this requirement is waived by their employer.
