Amended employer penalties for violations of the existing equal pay law and/or retaliation against employees.

Any employer who willfully violates the state equal pay act, or who discharges or in any other manner discriminates against any employee because the employee has made a complaint to the employer or state agency, has brought a claim under the equal pay act, or has testified or is about to testify, shall, upon conviction by a court of competent jurisdiction, be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00), or by imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both.
