This bill would have amended the Ethical Conduct Rules of the House of Representatives, and therefore applied to Legislative Members and officers. It would have prohibited discrimination and harassment by a Member or officer of the House against an employee or another Member or officer, prohibited retaliation against individuals who file a complaint or otherwise participate in an investigation relating to a complaint of discrimination, and limited the use of non-disclosure agreements. The bill also would have required an additional hour of workplace discrimination and harassment training, and it would have expanded the Ethic’s Committee’s jurisdiction to cover discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints.
