This law requires employers with more than 50 employees to provide up to 30 days of unpaid leave, and employers with less than 50 employees to provide up to 5 days of unpaid leave, to employees who are survivors of domestic or sexual violence for related purposes, or to assist a minor survivor. Leave may be used to seek related services, relocate, or participate in legal proceedings. Employees should provide reasonable notice of leave and exhaust all other available leave time before taking safe leave. Employers may request supporting documentation.
