Councilmembers voted to cover first responders including firefighters and police officers. The pay increase will be retroactive from March 16 and end on May 15. Firefighters and police officers assigned to primary assigned duties will receive $500 for each month, or $1,000 total, and officers assigned to secondary assigned duties will receive $250 per month. Officials may vote to extend the plan in the future.
